Terri, I'm sorry, but I know that you can read the writing on the wall. They always know to say exactly what we want to hear. Been there, done that. The best thing you can do is take care of yourself. Your son will do whatever he wants to, regardless of what you want for him. That is a sad fact. Worry or no worry, the outcome is going to be the same. You are in my prayers. Be strong and live your life on your terms.
I know what I say won't be comforting but; what is, is it. We just have to accept what they give us.
I have come to the conclusion that we really have very little impact but that doesn't mean we give up. We are parents and that just doesn't work. Recognize our limitations and respond in kind. Do what you can to take care of yourself.
